PROMPTLINK COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES NEW INTEGRATED PROVISIONING SYSTEM™
Provisioning System Provides Small to Medium-sized Cable Operators the Same Tools and Customer Information Only Available to Large MSO’s in the Past
Irvine, CA – May 8, 2007 - Promptlink Communications, a provider of software applications for the management of cable broadband networks and equipment, today announced the release of its Integrated Provisioning System (IPS). IPS is targeted at small-to-medium size cable operators, and combines provisioning capabilities, customer management and network monitoring information in a single application. Promptlink’s IPS was created to address cable operators’ needs to manage multiple business elements as a whole – provisioning, network operations, and support of the subscribers. The result: lower operational costs, faster and more accurate response and service for the customer, plus higher quality and customer satisfaction, which leads to reduced subscriber churn. By using a single unified application, data integrity and consistency are maintained. Promptlink’s IPS is a robust operational tool for active, dynamic provisioning of DOCSIS devices. Promptlink’s IPS application software supports common provisioning functions, such as dynamic IP address assignment using DHCP, domain name server configurations, and generation and management of CM configuration files, as well as Service and Subscriber Management. It also provides provisioning information about the various DOCSIS devices on the network. The integration of all of these elements makes the Promptlink IPS unique in its class. The Promptlink IPS is designed for scalable, high-performance operation in the demanding cable operator environment to address their issues:
Promptlink’s IPS offers features such as a comprehensive DHCP server, an integrated TFTP server and integrated TOD functions, plus support for DOCSIS 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 devices. IPS also provides customers with a subscriber information integration kit, service creation templates, and a Web-based Graphical User Interface for easy overall administration and convenient access. These tools allow the Cable Operator to maximize resource usage and define the most effective services to maximize revenue. IPS is part of Promptlink’s Cable Network Management Suite™ (CNMS). The CNMS suite of products offers even more functionality, including enterprise-level network monitoring with the Cable Plant Monitoring (CPM) application. CPM integrates seamlessly with IPS to provide complete DOCSIS network management, complementing the features of IPS by adding active monitoring capabilities of all DOCSIS and non-DOCSIS network elements. CPM is currently installed throughout the world, and has been offered since 2002. “IPS will finally give the small to medium-sized cable operators the same provisioning tools and customer information access that has been available to only large MSO’s previously,” said Dr. Foad Towfiq, president and founder of Promptlink Communications. "Promptlink now has a complete solution for these operators with the addition of IPS to our Cable Network Management Suite.” Promptlink’s high-performance products for cable operators include Integrated Provisioning System (IPS), Cable Plant Management (CPM), an enterprise-level firmware management system - Cable Modem Upgrade (CMU) - as well as other software tools designed for full life-cycle support of the cable operations environment.
