Promptlink Communications Reaches Purchase Agreement with Time-Warner Cable

Agreement Approves Purchase of Promptlink’s Cable Modem Test Platform by Time-Warner Cable Divisions for Cable Modem and EMTA Testing

Irvine, CA - April 10, 2006 - Promptlink Communications,  a provider of software applications for management of cable broadband networks and equipment, today announced a purchase agreement with Time-Warner Cable for Promptlink’s Cable Modem Test Platform (CMTP).

As part of the agreement, Time-Warner Cable Divisions are now able to purchase the CMTP product for testing of both Cable Modem and Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (EMTA) devices at a volume pricing discount, based on current and future purchase levels. The CMTP product is currently installed in several Time-Warner Cable Divisions, where benefits are already being seen in the testing of returned Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).

Promptlink’s Cable Modem Test Platform is currently used across North America and Latin America. Latin American customers include Costavision S.A. and TV Cable Promision Bucaramanga. The CMTP product tests both data and voice modems across a wide spectrum of parameters designed to separate devices that fail to meet Cable System standards from those that will perform well in customer homes. By correctly identifying “problem” modems, cable operators can significantly reduce expenses incurred by unnecessary truck rolls, as well as reduce No Problem Found (NPF) charges that can be assessed by modem vendors during the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. Promptlink’s Cable Modem Test Platform has filled the market need for a single, robust test platform created by the increased volume of EMTA modems. Promptlink continues to add enhancements to their products in order to meet the needs of cable operators worldwide.

Dr. Foad Towfiq, president and founder of Promptlink Communications, said, "This new agreement brings Promptlink to the forefront of DOCSIS® and PacketCable™ device testing. Promptlink is pleased to provide Time-Warner Cable with our industry-leading products in order to maximize the efficiency of Time-Warner Cable warehouse operations. We are proud of our ongoing relationship with Time-Warner Cable.”

Under the agreement, Promptlink Communications makes available to Time-Warner Cable divisions the CMTP device-testing software suite, along with a turnkey hardware option that can deliver a pre-configured solution for immediate use.
